Never defile the sanctity of your mind. This is worst for your spiritual progress than encountering even the most grotesque evils that you can imagine (or see) existing in the world.
It is true that many people around you may be filled with ignorance, that many may lack good critical thinking or effective decision-making skills, and it is also true that many others may lack and/or truly practice ethics, morals and/or values, but you only risk destructive Karmic entanglements (with these types of people) when you use your own mind and senses to focus on anything other than your purity and walking in the light/continually doing what is right.
You only do yourself a disservice when you practice bad mental and spiritual hygiene by rolling around in garage thinking about garbage things. Never sacrifice your inner or outer progress, accomplishments, nor other merits (in a world filled with so much misery and potential for misery), for things that are lower than the rewards that you have worked hard for, created, and secured.
Because even looking at the injustices and suffering of the world has a potential to create destructive disturbance within you if you are not careful and diligent in how you see at things, it is best to keep your focus only on the divine light, even when surrounded by illusions, delusions, and darkness. This takes practice, but never allow anything to distract you and rob you of your pure light energy.
Keep your focus on, and grounded in, what is Real. And always ensure that your thoughts, words, and actions are on the actual Truth of anything and clearly seeing the Absolute Reality.
