Pranayama is not just breathing…in the same way that moving your body and getting into poses is not Asana, nor is sitting in lotus position with your eyes closed meditation.
Intentionality is what transforms action into purpose, and it is purpose that creates the power and value behind transformative and meaningful outcomes.
The key to maximizing your results, however, is not necessarily in having a rigid goal in mind (although some results can be used as a reference point), nor is it in having a set idea of what anything “should” look like (in a universe filled with infinite possibilities). The best way to have the best outcome from anything is to set the best outcome as your intention and goal.
This way, you avoid working hard toward markers/outcomes that may not necessarily be the best, or right, for you.
This practice can be challenging when you are attached to preconceived notions about what success looks like (or should look like), or cling to specific desires that you have a hard time letting go of. But, if you want the best you have to truly and honestly aim for the best, no matter what the outcome looks like, and also accept the fact that what you want at any given moment (based on the current shape of your life/mind) may not actually be the best thing for you (or anyone else).
Take intentional action, striving for the best, and let the purpose behind your intention create the results.
Let your faith be strong in the boundless higher “will” (that is within you all all of existence itself) beyond your limited ego will and align your actions with that “will,” without attachment.
