Unfortunately, the human mind, when not fully strengthened and developed, can become afflicted by insecurity (and insincerity) at any time.
And we can see this prominently in modern day societies where most people say that they understand the absurdity of seeking perfection in superficial appearances, but, they, in fact, do not always live as if they fully comprehend what they say that they know.
This is why, even while reducing themselves to a body-mind, most people fail to have gratitude for the perfection that exists in the most important parts of their bodies. Instead of worrying about their organ and energetic systems, for example, and, therefore, adequately caring for these aspects of their being well enough to fully thrive in the world long-term, most simply focus on outward appearances alone (even though the unseen aspects of one’s physical make-up are arguably the most important parts for maintaining perceived external “beauty” and a high quality of life overall). This is also why our world is plagued with the disease of racism which only judges people based on genetic traits that are only “skin-deep.”
Most people wash their skin with water and soap, but poison their organs and minds with garbage; they sculpt their physiques with exercise and neglect the shape of their character and intellect.
Many ignorantly compare themselves to others even when there is no comparison to any other, nor any real competition for mates and/or resources (falsely perceiving attention and the fleeting opinions of people who do not matter in their lives or care about them in reality, as the most fought after “resource” in the modern day world).
Pseudo-confidence pervades our insecure societies as certain meaningless and changeable aspects of external appearances in people, cultures, and the environment (even to the complete exclusion of the ecosystem that actually sustains life) become obsessions that easily lead some to engage in inhumane and absurd behaviors. Many, even those in the “world’s spotlight,” rally with others around jealousies, and insecure fears and hatreds, giving more importance to otherwise meaningless things as societies crumble on shaky foundations that some of them are tasked with caring for.
And we can watch this all play out on social media as young children develop mental illnesses in the confusion of observing lost adults degrade themselves and others over things that have no substance.
True confidence in oneself, however, it is always important to remember, only comes from being in touch with unchanging facts.
And these facts point to the understanding that your physical manifestation in an everchanging vessel (one that you can elevate to the level of sacred if you do not reduce it to an object for transaction in the world), is inherently spectacular as an expression of a Truth that is divine.
Everything that appears upon the surface of a fleeting and ever-changing temporal plane, tied to subjective personal and/or shared delusions of likes, dislikes, etc, often fueled by basic animal drives, lower animal compulsions, and ignorance, will only bind you to suffering and confusion in the world.
To break free from the idiocy of lower animal expression and attachment; truly remember that you are Spirit.
Take care of and respect your physical vessel (in whatever way that manifests for you in your life at any given moment, whether it needs resting, treating, healing, or strengthening) not for the sake of appearances in society, but for the sake of honoring your body’s role in the perfect expression of existence itself…and stay out of judgment about others, because to degrade and disrespect anyone (including yourself) is a sure sign that you do not truly understand, love, or respect your Self.
Other’s personal bodies, unless these bodies are intimately tied to you in some way (and only to the extent that these ties impact your body when this is so) is their personal business, just as their personal minds are theirs. Even if you are someone’s “caretaker” by role, remember that it is existence itself that takes care of anything in essence, and your body-mind is just there to play its part.
Find contentment with yourself and you will naturally have no problem accepting and appreciating the beauty of all that is in the world for however long it lasts and in its multiple variations and expressions throughout space and time, without forming disturbing psychological attachments to judgments of yourself and/or others.
So, despite the fact that the world is full of insecurity and insincerity caused by confusion, we do not judge it, we simply acknowledge it and continue to love ourselves and others for the sake of respecting existence itself. We free our own selves from stupidity when we notice it and keep practicing, aligning, and moving forward, not getting caught up in the illusions and appearances of the world or by the nonsense in our, or other people’s, minds.
