Thoughts And Emotions Must Be Observed (And Sometimes Effectively Understood) Before They Are Mastered


Your emotional reactions are valid, since feelings are neither right nor wrong; they simply reflect the effects of the thoughts that you are thinking and how you are perceiving the world as a result of them.

Just because your feelings are valid based on your perspective, however, does not mean that your perspective is right or useful in any way.

Always ask yourself if the thoughts that fuel your emotions and behavioral responses are beneficial or helpful to you in healthy, and long-term meaningful, ways.

Does holding onto any feeling, or taking action based on any feeling or thought, actually move you closer to where you want to be in any given situation?

If not, remember to pause, get a hold of yourself, and reframe.
