If you are perfectly content in your ignorance, confusion, delusion, and/or complacency, then, most likely, you will remain in these states indefinitely.
And, furthermore, if you continually run from discomfort and pain in life beyond what is intelligent to actually stay away from for your basic well-being (constantly chasing after pleasure, or drooling over experiences of perpetual ease), then, most likely, you will never fully learn, nor grow, to your greatest capacity.
There are many reasons that pain is used as purification in Sadhana practice, and a couple of these reasons is that it triggers the determination for conscious and intentional change, and managing/transcending it effectively promotes greater strength, understanding, and resilience.
Since pain is inevitable for every human body-mind in existence, it is best to understand its purpose, become better equipped at handling it, and, like with everything in life, effectively use it for your growth, learning, and positive movement forward if your goal is to develop beyond where you have been before.
Do your best to effectively manage your pain in healthy, intelligent, and meaningful ways. Never allow any pain to threaten to “destroy you” (and get away with it). Teach your pain that you are, and always will be, in control…Whether you hold on, or release it, it is your choice…just ensure that it is an intelligent one.
Cry and release it. Smile and release it. Move and release it. Sing and release it…just remember to release it when it is time to do so. Pain only starts to create problems when you hold on to it for too long.
There is a lesson in feeling your pain, a lesson in overcoming it, and a lesson in letting go…every part is important.
Just stay conscious, and know where you are at every step along the way so that you make the most appropriate decisions in any given moment.
