Can you describe the perfect day?
How does it feel, look, sound, smell, or even taste?
Maybe for you, a perfect day is being in nature, communing with the trees, animals and land, or maybe it’s sitting at your desk writing poetry or connecting with friends over a social networking site.
~~~
Odds are, that if you ask a group of people to each individually describe the perfect day, no matter how similar the people in that group may seem, you will receive a variety of differing answers, sensory details, and explanations of why certain events and emotions will make a given day perfect for the person describing it.
This of course is natural, since we are all unique in our likes, dislikes, perspectives, lifestyles and desires, but within the diversity of answers that one may receive in response to the question of a perfect day, there is still one common theme (if you will) that will inevitably present itself, the theme of a light or uplifting, relaxing or exciting, exhilarating or breathtaking, feeling…a feeling that, no matter how a person may choose to label or describe it, is a state that feels good to that person, and most likely brings a smile to his/her face.
Fortunately, creating the perfect day does not require advanced mathematical and circumstantial maneuvers; it is simply the result of doing one thing, creating the opportunity for yourself to make the most out of your unfolding moments by acting upon your next highest opportunity to feel good…or, better yet, great!
10 Simple Ways To Make Each Day Perfect
- Set the intention to make the most out of/enjoy each day, no matter how the day unfolds.
- Take at least 15 minutes to quiet your mind: this can involve anything from going for a walk, taking a relaxing bath or shower, meditating, or any combination of these or other activities.
- Do at least one thing that you enjoy just for the sake of doing it.
- Laugh (at least once).
- Connect and spend time with someone/something that you love. (Your special someone/thing can be a friend, family member, pet, car, or even yourself).
- Spend some time (as much time as you possibly can) outdoors.
- Listen to a song that you love.
- Move your body. (Dance, yoga, exercise…)
- Eat something delicious/that makes you feel good. (This can be anything from chocolate cake to a juice or smoothie, as long as you truly feel good doing it…especially afterward.)
